Ever wonder what a giving birth at home is really all about? Or maybe you're planning a hospital birth but you'd like to know what to expect? Whatever your birthing questions may be, our panel of experts can help!

In this moderated session, participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions about birth and hear responses from an obstetrician, a certified professional midwife, and a certified nurse midwife, all with decades of experience delivering babies in a variety of settings.

This session will feature an overview of parenting with compassion.  The information presented is based on the principles of Nonviolent Communication as created by Marshall Rosenberg.  The presentation will be a fast-paced sampling of what compassion and nonviolent communication can bring to the parenting paradigm.

What It Means to Give Informed Consent

​You've probably heard the phrase "informed consent,"  but do you know what it truly means? If you require medications, interventions, or anesthesia during the course of your labor and delivery, you'll be asked to sign papers stating that you understand the risks associated with the procedure or drug. If you really ​don't understand the risks, are you truly giving consent? Find out why it is so important to understand what you are agreeing to.
